Dragon In Castle
Video Prompt
I have been working to learn AI Video creation for the last few months, and this is my most successful attempt so far! While it is not perfect, it is the first one I did not have to edit heavily by hand using Adobe After Effects, so I consider that a success!
In an effort to help others learn, I am going to start uploading my prompts and workflow information for some of my more successful videos. Feel free to learn from my mistakes!
Not only is this my most successful prompt, but it was my first attempt to create a video starting purely from a text prompt with no references! I started with a 15 second video using Minimax H3 in ComfyUI, then extended it 3 more times for varying amounts of time. You can find the prompts for all 4 clips below!

# THE AWAKENING — CLIP 1 OF 4
16:9 | MiniMax H3 Text to Video
Duration: 15 seconds
Create a breathtaking cinematic dark-fantasy sequence featuring an ancient abandoned castle and the awakening of an enormous dragon concealed deep inside its tallest ruined tower.
Richly detailed, photorealistic CGI with the visual sophistication of an epic fantasy blockbuster. Dramatic camera choreography, immersive environmental detail, natural atmospheric effects, realistic creature anatomy, and escalating supernatural tension.
## OPENING — THE FORGOTTEN CASTLE
Begin high above a vast mountainous landscape beneath a cold silver moon. The camera plunges through layers of drifting clouds, revealing a magnificent ruined medieval castle perched atop a jagged mountain peak.
The camera banks dramatically around the castle, sweeping past towering battlements, crumbling gothic spires, shattered windows, and weathered stone walls covered in creeping vines.
Natural silvery-gray mist curls around the lower towers and drifts through broken archways.
The camera dives toward a massive stone entrance, passing beneath its ancient archway and racing into the deserted courtyard.
## EXPLORATION — THE SILENCE BEFORE THE STORM
Gliding just above cracked flagstones, the camera weaves between fallen statues, broken columns, and collapsed masonry.
Cold moonlight stretches long shadows across the courtyard. Everything feels abandoned, ancient, and eerily silent.
Suddenly, a deep vibration travels through the castle.
Tiny pebbles begin trembling across the ground. Dust sifts from overhead stonework. Ancient iron chains sway and rattle.
The camera swings upward toward the tallest ruined tower.
A faint amber light pulses from somewhere deep within its enormous shattered gothic window.
## THE AWAKENING — SOMETHING STIRS
The camera spirals upward around the tower as the vibrations intensify.
Cracks spread through weakened mortar. Small fragments of stone tumble from the battlements. The mysterious amber illumination strengthens, casting flickering orange highlights across the interior walls.
Something massive shifts inside the tower.
A deep, resonant rumble vibrates through the ancient structure.
The camera slows and approaches the enormous broken gothic window. Beyond its jagged stone archway lies a vast, shadowy interior chamber.
Deep inside that chamber, an immense living creature begins to move.
## THE REVEAL — THE DRAGON AWAKENS
A colossal dragon’s head slowly advances out of the interior darkness toward the window.
First, the unmistakable contours of its enormous reptilian snout become visible. Then rows of overlapping charcoal-black scales catch the faint amber firelight.
Massive curved horns rise from its skull. Its ridged brow, powerful jaws, nostrils, and armored neck establish the unmistakable anatomy of a gigantic living dragon.
The dragon remains physically **inside the tower**, its head partially framed by the stone window opening.
Its horns nearly touch the surrounding masonry as it slowly lifts its head.
For one suspended moment, its eyelids remain closed.
Then its two deep amber eyes slowly open beneath the heavy reptilian brow.
The pupils narrow as the dragon focuses directly on the approaching camera.
A faint stream of hot breath escapes its nostrils, curling into the cold night air.
The dragon draws back its lips slightly, revealing enormous ivory fangs. A low, thunderous growl reverberates through the tower.
The camera holds on the terrifying, unmistakably living dragon’s face.
**SMASH CUT TO BLACK.**
## VISUAL AND MOTION DIRECTION
Maintain purposeful, dynamic camera movement throughout the castle approach and exploration, transitioning into slower, deliberate camera movement for the creature’s dramatic reveal.
Build tension progressively through environmental reactions, subtle structural movement, intensifying internal firelight, and the growing sense of an immense hidden presence.
The dragon is a colossal, anatomically coherent reptilian creature with dark charcoal scales, curved horns, armored facial ridges, powerful jaws, and realistic amber eyes.
Its head, eyes, horns, and neck belong entirely to the dragon’s physical body, which occupies the dark chamber behind the window.
**The castle is completely inanimate architecture.** Its stone walls, bricks, windows, and towers are ordinary building materials. The dragon is a separate living creature concealed inside the structure.
The dragon’s head must not merge with the masonry or become part of the tower’s surface. Its eyes are set naturally into its scaled reptilian skull, not into the castle walls.
Keep the dragon mostly concealed. Reveal its head and a portion of its neck, but save its full body, enormous wings, explosive emergence, and flight for Clip 2.
Use realistic silver moonlight, natural gray mist, deep atmospheric shadows, and restrained amber firelight.
Avoid neon effects, glowing purple fog, arbitrary magical particles, exaggerated shaking, unrealistic morphing, or decorative explosions.
**ENDING REQUIREMENT:** Finish with a clearly recognizable, physically separate dragon staring toward the camera from inside the shattered tower window, followed by a dramatic cut to black.
The final moment must create overwhelming anticipation for the dragon’s spectacular emergence in the next clip.
Clip 2 Prompt
# THE AWAKENING — CLIP 2 of 4: THE BREAKOUT
16:9 | MiniMax H3 Video Extension**
Duration: 10 Seconds
Continue seamlessly from the existing footage of the enormous charcoal-black dragon staring through the shattered gothic window of the castle’s tallest tower.
Maintain the established dragon anatomy, amber eyes, imposing scale, dark medieval castle, cold moonlight, and cinematic photorealistic CGI style.
## 0–3 SECONDS — THE BREAKOUT
The dragon lunges powerfully forward, smashing its massive shoulders through the weakened stone surrounding the gothic window.
Heavy masonry fractures and falls away as the dragon forces its muscular body through the opening.
The camera immediately retreats backward into open air, facing the advancing dragon.
The dragon clears the shattered opening, spreads its enormous leathery wings, and launches into forward flight.
## 3–7 SECONDS — THE DOLLY-OUT REVEAL
The camera rapidly dollies backward, moving faster than the approaching dragon, steadily increasing the distance between camera and creature.
The composition opens dramatically from a close frontal view into a spectacular wide cinematic shot.
The dragon’s full wingspan, muscular body, powerful limbs, and long tail become visible.
Behind the flying dragon, the ruined tower and surrounding castle come into view, establishing the extraordinary scale of the creature.
The dragon continues flying forward in its established direction, maintaining a consistent upright anatomical orientation. Its wings perform powerful, coordinated flight strokes.
## 7–10 SECONDS — BEGINNING THE BANK
With the entire dragon now comfortably visible in the wide composition, it begins a sweeping sideways banking maneuver, rolling its body gently to one side as its flight path starts curving back toward the castle tower.
The camera continues retreating in a smooth, wide tracking shot, keeping the dragon fully visible and the castle clearly recognizable behind it.
The dragon’s head leads the turn, its shoulders and body follow naturally, and its long tail trails through the developing curve.
**FINAL FRAME:** A spectacular wide shot showing the complete dragon, including both wings and its tail, airborne at a noticeable sideways banking angle, beginning its sweeping turn with the castle visible in the background.
The dragon is poised to continue circling the tower in the next clip.
## CAMERA AND MOTION PRIORITIES
One continuous cinematic shot.
The primary camera movement is a rapid backward dolly-out, increasing the camera-to-dragon distance and progressively widening the composition.
Maintain a stable, upright camera horizon as the dragon begins banking.
Keep the dragon fully framed during the final several seconds, surrounded by generous open sky to accommodate its immense wingspan.
Maintain physically coherent forward flight, realistic wing articulation, believable momentum, and consistent spatial relationships between the dragon and castle.
Preserve the established moonlit atmosphere, charcoal scales, amber eyes, and ancient gothic architecture.
The primary visual achievement is the transformation from an intimidating close-up of the emerging dragon into a breathtaking, fully visible airborne creature framed against its ruined castle.

## STARTING POSITION
Continue seamlessly from the final frame of the supplied video.
An enormous charcoal-black dragon is already halfway through a banking turn, seen from the side in a wide aerial shot with a ruined medieval castle in the background.
The castle’s tallest tower is the central architectural landmark. The large silver moon occupies the RIGHT side of the sky.
Preserve the dragon’s established anatomy, charcoal-black overlapping scales, armored reptilian head, curved horns, muscular body, enormous leathery wings, and long tapering tail.
Maintain the castle’s architecture, cold moonlight, atmospheric blue-gray night sky, and photorealistic dark-fantasy CGI style.
## 0–2 SECONDS — COMPLETE THE EXISTING TURN
The dragon immediately finishes the banking turn already underway, curving back toward the castle.
Its head and shoulders lead the motion while its body, wings, and tail follow naturally.
The dragon finishes the turn aligned with a flight path through the open air to the SCREEN-LEFT of the tallest tower, with the moon on the far RIGHT side of the tower
**CAMERA:** The camera follows the dragon through the remainder of its turn, traveling along a matching curved path at a consistent distance. The dragon remains prominent in a medium-wide composition with its entire wingspan visible.
## 2–6 SECONDS — FOLLOW THE LEFT-SIDE APPROACH
The dragon advances toward the castle, maintaining a clear flight path to the LEFT of the tallest tower, with the moon on the far RIGHT.
Its enormous wings deliver powerful, coordinated strokes as it closes the distance to the structure.
The tower grows larger as the dragon approaches, remaining to the RIGHT of its flight path.
**CAMERA:** The camera travels forward with the dragon at matching speed, tracking from a rear three-quarter angle. Maintain a consistent camera-to-dragon distance so the dragon occupies approximately half the frame’s width, including its full wingspan. The castle grows closer in the background while the dragon maintains a steady apparent size.
## 6–10 SECONDS — SWEEP AROUND THE TOWER
The dragon flies past the LEFT side of the tallest tower and begins curving around its far side.
Its head leads the arc, followed by its muscular body and trailing tail. Its powerful wings adjust naturally to guide the turn.
The dragon flies through the open air beside the stone structure, with the tower remaining to the RIGHT of its flight path.
**CAMERA:** The camera continues traveling with the dragon, matching its speed and curving flight path from a rear three-quarter tracking position. As the dragon passes beside the tower, the camera follows its movement around the structure, preserving a clear view of the dragon’s full body and the nearby gothic architecture.
## VISUAL STYLE
Photorealistic dark-fantasy CGI with anatomically coherent dragon flight, powerful wing articulation, believable momentum, and immersive cinematic scale.
Cold silver moonlight illuminates the dragon’s charcoal scales and leathery wings.
Natural gray mist drifts around the castle battlements beneath the atmospheric blue-gray night sky.
The large silver moon remains in the RIGHT portion of the sky.
## FINAL FRAME
A dramatic medium-wide aerial tracking shot showing the entire dragon flying past the LEFT side of the tallest castle tower and beginning its curve around the far side.
The camera remains close enough for the dragon’s complete body, enormous wings, and tail to be clearly recognizable.
The tall gothic tower dominates the nearby architectural background, positioned to the dragon’s RIGHT.
The dragon maintains a powerful forward trajectory, smoothly banking around the tower while the camera follows alongside and slightly behind it.
Clip 4 Prompt
# THE AWAKENING — CLIP 4 of 4: THE MOONLIT DEPARTURE
16:9 | MiniMax H3 Video Extension**
Duration: 12 Seconds
## STARTING POSITION
Continue seamlessly from the final frame of the supplied video.
An enormous charcoal-black dragon is already flying beyond the tallest tower of an ancient ruined castle, viewed from behind and slightly above.
The dragon is continuing forward into the open night sky. The large silver moon is visible toward the LEFT side of the starting composition.
Preserve the dragon’s established anatomy, overlapping charcoal-black scales, armored reptilian head, curved horns, muscular body, enormous leathery wings, and long tapering tail.
Maintain the established moonlit atmosphere, natural blue-gray clouds, realistic lighting, and photorealistic dark-fantasy CGI style.
## 0–3 SECONDS — CLEARING THE TOWER
The dragon continues its established forward flight, carrying it beyond the castle’s tallest tower and into open sky.
Its immense wings perform powerful, coordinated strokes while its muscular body maintains a consistent upright orientation.
**CAMERA:** Continue following the dragon smoothly from behind and slightly above, maintaining a medium-wide view of its complete body and wingspan.
The existing tower moves naturally out of the composition as the dragon and camera travel beyond it.
## 3–6 SECONDS — BANKING LEFT TOWARD THE MOON
The dragon gradually banks LEFT, following a broad, graceful aerial curve toward the silver moon.
Its head and shoulders lead the movement while its body, wings, and tail follow with convincing weight and momentum.
**CAMERA:** Follow the beginning of the dragon’s leftward turn, smoothly panning left to maintain the dragon within the composition.
As the camera’s viewing direction rotates left, the moon moves naturally from the left portion of the image toward the center of the developing composition.
The camera then gradually reduces its forward speed and eases out of the turn, settling into a stable wide view aligned with the dragon’s flight path and the moon.
The dragon continues flying forward, increasing its distance from the slowing camera and becoming progressively smaller.
## 6–9 SECONDS — CROSSING THE MOON
The dragon continues its flight across the open sky, passing directly in front of the large luminous moon.
Its complete dark silhouette is clearly recognizable against the bright lunar surface, with its enormous wings, reptilian head, muscular body, and long trailing tail forming a dramatic silhouette.
Its wings perform a broad, powerful stroke during the crossing.
**CAMERA:** Hold the established wide composition, with the moon positioned naturally along the dragon’s flight trajectory.
The camera is now nearly stationary, allowing the dragon’s continued forward movement to carry it across the moon while steadily receding into the distance.
## 9–12 SECONDS — THE FINAL DEPARTURE
The dragon continues beyond the moon, following its established leftward flight trajectory.
Its silhouette grows progressively smaller as it travels farther through the atmospheric night sky.
The dragon moves toward the LEFT edge of the composition and disappears completely beyond the frame.
**CAMERA:** Maintain the steady wide view as the dragon departs.
The final composition is dominated by the luminous silver moon and softly illuminated clouds.
## CAMERA AND SPATIAL CONTINUITY
One continuous cinematic shot.
The camera initially travels with the dragon, preserving the established viewing angle and flight direction.
As the dragon banks left, the camera pans left smoothly to follow its movement, naturally repositioning the moon within the frame.
The camera progressively slows its forward movement and settles into a stable wide composition as the dragon continues flying away.
The dragon’s apparent size decreases naturally as the distance between it and the camera increases.
The existing castle passes out of view during the opening movement, leaving the open night sky as the scene’s environment.
Maintain consistent perspective, atmospheric depth, and coherent dragon anatomy throughout the sequence.
## LIGHTING AND VISUAL STYLE
Photorealistic dark-fantasy CGI with physically convincing wing movement and powerful aerial momentum.
Cold silver moonlight catches the dragon’s charcoal scales and dark leathery wings.
The sky contains natural layers of blue-gray clouds, subtle atmospheric haze, and realistic moonlit illumination.
The dragon becomes a dramatic dark silhouette as it crosses the bright lunar surface.
## FINAL FRAME
A wide cinematic view of the luminous silver moon surrounded by softly illuminated night clouds.
The dragon has completed its leftward flight across the moon and departed beyond the LEFT edge of the screen.
