LOTR Memorial Poster
The Request
Can you put my late cousin’s faces on this poster?
Every year we throw a “Rings n Wings” event in memory of my late cousins, who started the trend with their homies. Its one part Lord of the Rings marathon, one part chicken wing potluck, one part excuse to day drink!
I need help putting together a poster for the event. If you can replace as many faces on this poster with their faces, that’d be rad! I’ll add another $5 if you replace “The Lord of the Rings” with “Rings and Wings” in a similar font, and “The Fellowship of the Ring” with “February 21, 2026”
Thanks!
The Results
I’ll be honest, the budget was way too low on this request, but because I love doing edits like this, I took it anyway. I knew that pretty much every submission the OP got would be straight, 1-click AI edits… and you just can’t get accuracy for that many faces in this manner.
My first step was to find the highest resolution of the poster that I could, because OPs copy was much too small to work with for a project like this. Then I upscaled that image to over 5000×8000, to ensure the facial details would be clearly visible when I started to add them.
Next I chose faces that I thought would fit each character. Luckily OP had provided plenty to choose from! I adjusted each face to match as closely as possible to the angle on the poster, and then I converted each one into a similar artistic style one at a time, using a combination or AI and filters, to get high resolution versions of each, and added any hairstyles needed to better fit the poster.
The last step was just to merge everything back in using photoshop, which was fairly simple since I had set them up to be a good match beforehand.
Since it is hard to compare faces on the poster, I have created side by side comparisons for each face below. How do you think I did?
Facial Comparisons
Here I have placed each face on the poster next to it’s corresponding photo.
