Skateboard Memorial Cartoon
The Request
Brother in law passed away and we are looking to have something created in his honor. We would like a cartoon style image of him with some sort of skateboard theme. Extra points if you can incorporate a hummingbird. 15 dollar tip to the one we ended up selecting. Thank you everyone.
The Results
I always love doing cartoons and caricatures, and trying to make them still look like the person they are representing. I wanted to incorporate the hummingbird in a meaningful way, not just have one flying around. So I created a surreal hummingbird: an illustration painted on the bottom of the skateboard that comes to life and begins to break free, representing the soul breaking free of this world and into the afterlife

In addition to the traditional, line art style cartoon, I also created one a bit more photorealistic, and it ended up being the favorite.
